Good afternoon Sir,
Your Universal scanner from Taiwan salesman asked me to send you an email.
He was hoping that we could spend a little time together discussing the Universal scanner from Taiwan. It is the best multiple brand automotive diagnostic tool sold today.

You might want to send me your phone number so I can call and we can talk.

I work with the Universal scanner from Taiwan company supporting it.
Using the Universal scanner from Taiwan saves our customers thousands of dollars in equipment costs.
We build and support a Windows PC for the installation of OE softwares.

Here is a description of the PC we prepare.
We recommend a refurbished Dell E-5510.
The model is important as we need a native serial port for Communication on some brands, USB and LAN on others.
We install 8 GGB’s of system RAM. (Automotive comparison to improving intake air and installing a 3″ exhaust)
We replace the original, small and slow Hard Disc Drive with a 1 terabyte Seagate Semi Solid State HDD. It is very fast, from OFF to BOOT CHOICE MENU is 9 seconds. Choose the brand and fully boot into Windows in less than 30 seconds!
We use a special utility that allows splitting that drive into 12 separate Windows Operating Systems.

This is very important.
This way you buy 1 computer not 12.
Most automotive OEM diagnostic software’s do not install or run on Windows 7 or 8.
Then we install the OE brands of your choice on that PC to use in your shop.

You choose what brands to install.

Best Regards,

Paul Callanan

Looking for a few good European technicians

I was in the mountains last week.

While I was seeing customers I was asked, again if I knew of any European technicians that were interested in working up there.

From three different shops. Aspen, Glenwood Springs, Vail.

I have two other shops in south Denver that have openings for good tech’s.

Interested?

Call me for the details.

DiCe or no DiCe & other projects

What a great week!

We had a customer send us his two DiCe units, they would not be seen by the current version of ViDa.

No trouble, after we figured this out a couple of years back.

Took an hour or so, reflashed the firmware and now it can be seen by the newest versions!

That job is done, then we get a call from two different local Swedish car shops.

One is having trouble connecting the new MDI hardware for reprogramming on a 2013 SAAB.

We have that job in house now, we will deliver it on Monday!

Then the other one was using a “specially” configured ViDa we did for them.

(if you are interested in a “special” ViDa install, call us and ask)

His Windows 7 install with the needed 40 GB’s of extra HDD space for his last subscription for programming was failing the minimum systems requirement test for the current version!

ITEM MINIMUM REQUIRED SPECIFICATION
Processor > Dual Core 1.6 GHz (Laptop)
> Dual Core 2.6 GHz (Desktop)
Memory* > 4 GB
Local Free Disc Space** > 80 GB
Networking*** broadband connection
Connections 2 x USB 2.0 (One for DiCE and one for SWDL USB Memory)
Operating System(s) Microsoft Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3
-MS Windows XP Professional will no longer be supported past April 2014
Browser**** Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0
File System NTFS
Display Resolution***** ≥ 1024 X 768
Optical Unit****** DVD-ROM Dual Layer

Those are now the Minimum!

From 40 GB to 80 GB free disc space in one month!

Wow

We wonder what the next update will require. No matter, the ViDa install completed and opened just fine once we slid over some of the free space on the HDD .

That leaves us with a dual boot project for the current subscription for BMW ISTA-D and P.

Call us and ask what we can do for you RE: ON/OFF line diagnosing and programming.

Automotive IT

AutoDiagCart.com offers Dealership Automotive IT help.

I was at a new Honda Dealer last week. They told me that they were trying to get the Honda Diagnostic System up and running.

They called a local computer business for support. Nice try!

He has now spent two full days at the new store trying to confirm an inoperable new piece of hardware. That’s got to be expensive.

Someone with previous experience would have been able to do that with a great deal less work.

Automotive needs are very different from normal consumers. The “normal” PC advice does not apply.

We work with OE softwares every day. We have been doing it for years.

Think you might be able to use a little help?

Contact us, often we can help with just a couple of minutes of over the phone advice.

On site support is available in the Front Range.

Customer support is #1

We get a lot of calls from customers visiting our site.

We don’t always make the sale, but we seem to make an impression.

Here is how days in our lives go!

Friday my friend Damian calls from Utah, he agrees that the BMW ISIS information will be helpful in his shop.

We will help him get that done.

Friday, my buddy Bill Frames calls and asks, “can I call you on Saturday for some tech support?”

No call Saturday. Sunday, here comes the call. No problem. Even on “not much of a Superbowl Sunday!”

We talk about the ZKS he needs to program on a 06 BMW.

Then we talk about the installation of ISIS for offline use. He is going to finish with a BMW in his shop and send us his PC.

It already has a current version for online access to www.BMWtechinfo.com

We will install another using a multi boot utility and get him his offline install. Done deal.

Next I get a phone call from a customer in Jamaica!

He is trying to use an install he achieved of the Ford/Mazda version 72 but it, of course is out of date and he is getting a “This session is not supported” warning!

He needs a little utility that we can help him find. Ford Extended Programming.

No problem he will call me later tonight from his home. Done deal.

The next call to another Universal scanner from Taiwan distributor on the west coast. She needs directions for loading the Ford IDS and the Toyota TechStreamLite.

Then I get the call I was thinking of when I started this post.

From Todd’s Auto Repair in Beverly Farms, MA. We talked months ago and I helped him realize that theUniversal scanner from Taiwan was what he needed.

He got it from the local Universal scanner from Taiwan distributor, so far I have not made a dime.

He was looking for a little help on his Vida subscription. He was not able to link his credit card to his install.

That is a pain. AVS is the problem, whatever! We will help. He is sending us his Vida PC to link his credit card to the subscription and for a “special modification”.

This will allow him to use the same PC for his subscription and yet have another for offline use.

Next.

Same customer different PC. His Ford IDS subscription is warning him about 13 days left.

We are on his Ford computer un-installing version 81 and installing 89. We see that he has Vida for Volvo on the same PC as the IDS, those two programs do not work well together on the same PC, so we un-installed Volvo.

We are helping him sign in and renew his subscription for Ford IDS 2014.

So, in case you are wondering if we can help, we CAN!

You just need to call us. Some things we can do are not mentioned in these online posts!

Best Regards,

Thanks for a great year!

WOW!

A flurry of last minute activity today. Nice way to end up a great year.

Thanks to all of my great customers!

You all are the very best.

Special thanks and well wishes to Vern Becker, who took my call while in the hospital yesterday.

He had me deliver a new universal Taiwanese scanner to another one of his shops.

Trade in from Launch X 431. We will be delivering his diagnostic laptop sometime in February.

We also closed a trade in deal today for Highlands Ranch Imports.

He bought the universal Taiwanese scanner in 2011, He has loved it.

He had the Autologic rep in this area offering him a deal for BMW, MB, and Land Rover as well as five years worth of maintenance on those three brands.

That was close to a forty thousand dollar deal that they did not get. Nice.

Got another order from Jay Mathes of All Imported Auto in Ridgecrest, CA wrapped up today.

Jay was at the AAPEX show and came by the booth several times to make sure he was clear on our capabilities.

Thanks for that order Jay!

Vida HDD crash in Golden

We got a call from Anderson’s Foreign car last week.

He has the Volvo Vida installed on a Cf-53 Toughbook. His HDD crashed and he needed to get it up and running.

We tried putting the Hard Drive in the freezer to see if that would allow it to spin up.

No Dice. It actually came up and said that the HDD was too cold!

Once it warmed up it would not spin!

So, he is bringing that by for us to work on this weekend.

We will get that back to him on Monday.
