Othmar,
I was just on your website, very nice.
We where talking about updates. (a month ago)
I don’t remember if we where just going on with the Toughbook you are using or considering a new computer.
Consider keeping the HDD with what is on it as the May of 2007 DAS has benefits.
We can get you a DAS install with April of 2010 on it and put the Lexus software for everyday use on it as well.
Your website mentions Lexus.
The DAS update + the Lexus install for everyday use would be $2000.
A new laptop will be Windows 7 capable, have great battery life, a brighter screen, 3 years accidental breakage coverage.
If you want the new laptop, add $1000.
We considered the benefits of licensed SCN for Mercedes.
We value the difference between AutoLogic for Mercedes and actual Mercedes Benz interaction.
Mercedes software considers the FDOK records, flows updates to all associated modules and records the changes in FDOK.
AutoLogic will never do that!
Mercedes is complete now, AutoLogic will want to charge you for any new chassis in the future!
Autologic for Mercedes does not cover Smart Car.
Mercedes yearly subscription is less than AutoLogics!
Seems like that ought to be a logical choice.
Get it?
An autological choice?
Never mind.
I think I did not quote you correctly on the phone.
Here is the breakdown.
The SCN needs to go on a separate computer running Win XP Pro svc pack 3.
Let’s call it the programming computer. (Dell e-6420 $1000)
Licensing is $950 a year to MB.
Installation for SCN is $1000.
Installation for SCN and TechStreamLite is $1500.
Installation for SCN and TechStreamLite and ISIS is $2500.
For the communication device I recommend the Drew Technologies CarDaq-M. ($1895)
The CarDaq will also work for the Lexus and the BMW ISIS as the communication device!
The current Lexus software can also live on this computer with no device conflicts as they will use the same device!
So for Lexus programming it is $55 for two days.
Security access for Lexus requires that NASTF clearance and is a little more of a daily rate.
Eventually,
The current BMW ISIS software can also live on this computer with no device conflicts as they will use the same device!
Eventually you may want ISIS. Just like the GT1 software, that’s where the Guided Fault Finding is!
I have been working on it for a while.
Let me know if I missed one of your questions!
Have a great week end!
Thanks for being a customer.
Best Regards,
Paul Callanan
